California Institute of Technology - Tenure Track Faculty Position in Solid Mechanics

The Division of Engineering and Applied Science at the California Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Solid Mechanics. Strong preference will be given to applicants who are experimentalists with demonstrated excellence in research and the potential for high quality teaching and mentoring. Research areas of particular interest include but are not restricted to biomechanics, micro/nano mechanics, space materials and structures.

The initial appointment at the assistant-professor level is for four years and is contingent upon the completion of Ph.D. Exceptionally well-qualified applicants may also be considered at the associate or full professor level.

Applications will be considered until the position is filled, though those received before February 28, 2006 are preferred.

teaching statements, copies of up to three key publications, and as well as a list of three to five references.
