Washington University in St. Louis - a faculty position in computational solid mechanics

Applications are invited for a faculty position in computational solid mechanics in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. The level of appointment and tenure status will be consistent with the professional experience and qualifications of the appointee. Aside from computational and mechanics expertise, the applicant should have demonstrated expertise in at least one modern application area, including but not limited to: cellular and molecular biomaterials; polymeric and colloidal materials; micro- or nano-mechanics; phase transformations and microstructural evolution. Applicants must have the ability to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to establish and maintain an active and significant externally-funded research program. Applications should include a current curriculum vitae, the names, mailing, and e-mail addresses of at least three referees, and brief statements of research and teaching interests and objectives. Applications received by January 31, 2006 will receive full consideration, but the search will remain open until an appointment has been made.
